The buildings at Discovery Gardens are grouped under six "garden life" themes. These include Contemporary, Cactus, Zen, Mediterranean, Mogul, and Mesoamerican. There are about 300 buildings, which house more than 26,000 low-cost studios, 1 and 2-bedroom apartments, 3 health centers and 200 retail stores. Behind the buildings are wide open spaces and landscaped gardens with many amenities.
The community is rectangular in shape and is in close proximity to the gardens, Al Furjan and Jebel Ali village. The community also has its own Discovery Gardens MRT station, which is on Route 2020 of the Dubai Metro.
