Dubai Entered the Top Ten Best Cities for Living in 2024
According to the World’s Best Cities Report published by the consulting firm Resonance, Dubai is among the top ten cities in the world for livability, attractiveness, and prosperity. The emirate has surpassed cities such as Los Angeles, Sydney, Amsterdam, San Francisco, Vienna, Toronto, Boston, Melbourne, Zurich, Washington, and others.
London topped the list, followed by Paris, New York, Tokyo, Singapore, Dubai, San Francisco, Barcelona, Amsterdam, and Seoul.
Key factors for livability, attractiveness, and prosperity include the city's pedestrian accessibility, landmarks, parks and recreation areas, airport transport accessibility, museums, nightclubs, restaurants, education level, shops, human capital, the number of companies in the Fortune 500 Global, the number of startups, and others.
"Famed for outstanding structures like the Palm Jumeirah and Burj Khalifa — the tallest building in the world, the city has been breaking world records for many years, making it its trademark: the tallest building, observation deck, etc., the fastest, the largest, and so on. In general, if you look for any world record in the field of urbanism, it is most likely to be found in Dubai," the report says.
"It's no surprise that Dubai ranks 8th in our 'Landmarks' subcategory, filled with endless shopping malls, aquariums, indoor ski parks, dancing fountains, fanciful theme parks, and water play areas that pay homage to Hollywood, Bollywood, Marvel, and Lego, as well as countless family resorts," add the Resonance report compilers.
Among regional cities, Abu Dhabi ranks second in the Middle East and 25th in the world, followed by Riyadh (28), Doha (36), Kuwait (58), and Muscat (89).
